Born and raised in Honolulu, I spent the first half of my working life as a Civil Engineer (I am still a Registered Professional Engineer in HI and CA) after completing my Engineering degree at Santa Clara University in California. This journey took me through all phases of complex Construction projects, beginning with planning and budgeting through Design, specifying and Permitting, and ending with Construction Management and Administration. I've always valued environmental stewardship and am a US Green Building Council high-performance building LEED Accredited Professional (BD+C).
However, one itch that Engineering didn't scratch was my dream to be an entrepreneur and to own a Small Business of my own. So many times, people ask about “how I switched from Engineering to Flooring” but in reality, I'm lucky that my professional experience helped prepare me for this new chapter in my life.
My company has grown through word of mouth and as a result of our core values centered around providing excellent Customer Service by valuing each and every relationship with customers, clients, architects, builders, and designers. Above all, being a local boy has taught me the importance of doing business fairly, honestly, and with integrity, especially on this small island where reputation is so important.
Thank you for choosing Paradise Flooring to be a part of the spaces you cherish most.
